Latouria Dendrobiums is the most up to date and comprehensive work published on Dendrobium section Latouria. This book will become the reference and identification work for botanists and orchidologist alike, including hobby and professional orchid growers.

The book is the culmination of the author's life's work, (50 plus years). Not only has he an inclusive coverage of all the 86 species and varieties, he has also included notes that are stories in themselves.

Each species is covered in full, most have photographs, scale drawings with pressed flowers within the drawing, an anglicized Latin description with metric and imperial measurements, maps to where the species was found, notes, and all references are in full and with each species.

Author Phil Spence gained an international reputation as an outstanding grower and hybridiser of orchids and his reputation is well documented and recognized by the many publications, local and international journals, and by his participation in orchid conferences. He has the honor of being the first person to have an article published as a Supplement to Orchids — The Bulletin of the American Orchid Society, Oct. 2010. Phil is a life member of several orchid societies and has been awarded The Award Of Honour of The Australian Orchid Foundation. The species Dendrobium spenceanum is named after him.
